Privacy Policy — Consteli

The honest summary

Consteli has no account, no login and no server of its own. Everything you write stays on your iPhone. We don't know who you are, how many gratitudes you've written, or whether you opened the app today.

One thing does leave your phone: the receipt of a Consteli Pro purchase, which a service called RevenueCat verifies for us. It carries no name, no email and nothing you wrote. The "Purchases" section below explains it.

This policy is short because there isn't much to say.

What is stored, and where

Everything below lives only on your device, inside the app's private storage:

• The text of your gratitudes and the date of each one.
• Photos you attach, saved inside the app. When saving, we strip all metadata from the original image — including location, date and device model — and reduce its size. Not even we would have access to that; it simply isn't kept.
• Your preferences: theme, star colour, language, reminder time.

If you delete the app, all of it goes with it. We hold no copy.

What we don't do

• We don't send your content anywhere. Nothing you write or photograph ever leaves the app.
• We use no tracking, no analytics and no advertising. The only third-party service the app talks to is RevenueCat, for purchases, described below.
• We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or any identifier.
• We don't sell or share anything, because we have nothing to sell or share.

Permissions the app may request

• Camera and photos: only when you choose to attach a photo to a gratitude. The image stays in the app, on your device.
• Notifications: only if you turn on the daily reminder. The notification is built on your own device, at the time you chose. Nothing is sent from outside.

You can decline or revoke either one in iPhone Settings. The app keeps working; only that feature stops.

iPhone backup

If you use iCloud or computer backup, your diary is included in that backup, like any other app's data. That backup is between you and Apple, governed by Apple's terms, not by this policy. Consteli has no access to your iCloud.

The app also offers its own iCloud backup, part of Consteli Pro, off by default. If you turn it on in Settings, your gratitudes and photos are mirrored to the private iCloud database of your own Apple Account, so they survive a lost phone and appear on your other devices. That copy is yours: it lives in your iCloud, under Apple's terms, and we have no server and no access to it. Turn it off at any time in Settings; what is already in your iCloud stays there until you remove it.

Purchases

Consteli Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment and knows what you bought; we receive no name, no email and no payment details.

To check that a purchase is valid and keep Pro active on your device, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-verification service. When you buy, restore a purchase, or open the app, it sends RevenueCat:

• the App Store transaction: what was bought, when, and until when it is valid;
• the app version, the iOS version and the country of your App Store;
• a random identifier created on your phone the first time the app runs. It is not your Apple Account, your device's serial number, your email or your name, and we cannot connect it to you.

RevenueCat keeps this record on our behalf and shows us totals: how many people are on a trial, how many subscribe, how many cancel. It never receives your gratitudes, photos or settings. RevenueCat processes this data under its own privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

The app also keeps, on your device only, a record of whether Pro is active, so it works offline.

Your data is yours

• Export: in Settings you can export everything as Markdown, with or without photos. The file is readable by anyone and goes wherever you send it.
• Delete: deleting the app deletes everything on your device. The purchase record at RevenueCat contains nothing that identifies you, and we cannot look it up by your name or email.

Apart from that anonymous record, we hold no personal data, so there is nothing to request, correct or withdraw from us. Rights under GDPR, CCPA and similar laws regarding access, correction and deletion are exercised directly on your device.

Children

The app collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.

Changes

This policy was updated on 2026-09-24 to describe RevenueCat, which the app started using in version 1.0.1. If the app ever sends anything else, this policy will be updated first, and the change will be announced in the app. The date at the top shows the current version.
